Sharkman Sunday

A lazy Sunday spent indoors sheltering from the cold, watching a bit of rugby, and doodling. Here's Sharkman, nabbing the mystic giant pearl... or something like that - make your own story! Click on the image for the full size version.

Illustration Friday: Tea

Tea? Don't mind if I do, dear. And a nice slice of cake too. Lovely.
It's been years since I had a proper High Tea. We always used to have them on a Sunday, although it wasn't quite like this. Click on the pic for a larger version.

I've created a Flickr set for all my Illustration Friday pics. I've also put some of my favourites on my revamped portfolio site too.

Illustration Friday: Simple

There are loads of versions of the iconic London Underground map by Harry Beck, known for its simplicity of design. This is my version. Simple: half way between Complex and Obvious, where Subtle and Refined meet.

The font used in the real current map is a modified form of Underground designed by Edward Johnston in 1916. One of Johnston's pupils was Eric Gill, who designed Gill Sans (which I've used here) based on Underground. After a quick search you can get hold of some versions of Underground here (pay) and here (free).
